From May 1st 2008 to December 31th 2010

 

The total cost planned for the project is 555,612 euro. Norwegian grants are to cover 472,270 euro of the total expenses, leaving 83,342 euro (15%) to the budget of Lower Silesian Voivodeship.

 

OBJECTIVES:

The overall objective is to increase the effectiveness of regional policy management and promote development in the Lower Silesian Voivodship. The purpose of the project is to improve communication and quality in international cooperation.

PARTNERSHIP:

Lower Silesia is the promoter of the project and carries it out with the partner regions: Alsace (France), Emilia Romagna (Italy), Kirovohrad (Ukraine), Basque Country (Spain), Styria (Austria) and West Midlands (Great Britain).

DESCRIPTION:

There are three areas where the afore-mentioned objectives are going to be achieved:
•    cooperation with the chosen partner regions: Alsace, Emilia Romania, Kirovohrad, Basque Country, Styria and West Midlands
•    promotion of the region
•    professional development of the staff,
through the following activities:
•    establishing the working group among the partner regions, acting on cooperation principles and substantial exchange of knowledge
•    creation and operation of a multi-language web platform for sharing good practice concerning regional development, region promotion and containing the database of public and private institutions interested in partnership within various European programmes
•    publicity and promotion, including publishing texts on Lower Silesia and promoting actions e.g. participation in the fairs and exhibitions
•    conferences promoting ideas of cooperation, seminars concerning the partner countries participating in the project, summer school for participants from the partner regions aiming to explain the matters of regional administration and ways of promoting the development
•    activities fostering growth of qualifications and competences of the Marshal’s Office of Lower Silesian Voivodeship staff, e.g. post-graduate studies, trainings and courses – among them language courses and study visits in the partner regions institutions.

One of the key benefits of P4G project implementation is the long-lasting and strong partnership between the institutions of cooperating regions as well as the exchange of good practice and assessment of the range of possible activities necessary to achieve common goals.
