Lower Silesia representatives in Emilia Romania
Between 7th and 11th June 2010 seven representatives of Lower Silesian Voivodeship (region) self-government paid a study visit to Emilia Romania (Italy), partner region in 'P4G – Partnership for Good' programme, co-financed from Norwegian Financial Mechanism.
Emilia Romania presented their experience in social policy, use of EU funds from ESF Regional Operational Programme (Italian nomenclature), 3rd sector info, Spinner 2013 programme created to make use of innovative technologies, vocational education activities including voucher system – an opportunity for secondary education graduates and people threatened by unemployment to boost their qualifications and change careers. Italians spoke also of the projects implemented within Interreg IV C with the participation of Polish regions. Due to comprehensive solutions, the guests were particularly interested in the visit to Montecatone, a rehabilitation centre for the people with spinal cord injuries or cerebral palsy based in the town of Imola.
Italian region of Emilia Romania is among the geographical priorities of Lower Silesian Voivodeship defined by the Assembly. Cooperation between these two regions was given legal framework by the agreement entered into on 10th September 2004 providing for the cooperation in environment protection, education and culture, preventive measures in healthcare, economy and others. Joint implementation of European projects is also included.
